MGS1 and peace Walker were my favourite !!!

snake eater and peace walker are have the best strory lines(besides mgs 2) but my personal favorite is phantom pain(cuz yk good mechanics and relatable snake)

 Mgs Peace walker. especially because i have 2 versions of, the hd collection for 360 and the original one for psp <33. and some lots and lots of hours playing the multiplayer

Snake Eater. Admittedly, I have yet to finish The Phantom
Pain, but I feel like MGS3 is essentially perfection (or close to it at least).
MGSV will probably end up being a close second for me.

going through the whole series right now in release order (Finished portable ops, will start on MGS4 soon) and honestly, MGS2 and MGS3 are close contenders for best games for me

Story is probably MGS2, but gameplay is probably MGS3
