Totally relate to this - when I first tried Neocities I spent hours just trying to center a div lol. Fran9's suggestions are solid, and I'd especially recommend the strovi.neocities.org helpful things page, it has a lot of practical snippets you can just copy and tweak. YouTube is also great if you're more of a visual learner. The cool thing about starting with Neocities is that you actually learn real HTML and CSS, which is a skill that scales up if you ever want to build something bigger. When I eventually needed a proper website for a side project, I used SkyPeek to find a dev company that could take over the technical stuff - but the basics I learned on Neocities helped me communicate what I wanted way better.
