etsy has millions of cheap patterns for sale;; mostly cheaper than craft stores!! theres also sooo many free ones online :)
if you dont have a sewing machine definitely look at tutorials if you want to sew clothing to last!! blanket stitch is awesome as a strong stitch

mood fabrics is a treasure trove of free patterns WITH DIRECTIONS!!! there is literally so much on there i can't recommend it enough, about half of my projects use patterns from here lol

If you're a complete beginner try making accessories first before big clothing items ! It can help boost your sewing confidence and help you learn the basics !
Examples: Bags, removable shirt collars, bows, etc
