Stuff that you "should" like, but just cannot stand

Slipknot. Pretty much every friend I've made thru liking similar music loves them and I just don't feel it lmao. They're not bad, but apart from couple songs they just don't make me feel anything either.

System of a Down and pop. ik it sounds rlly bad to be like omg im so different i don't listen to pop but like srsly every time i look at the "big on tiktok" spotify thingy it's like i've never heard any of this stuff ever nd this is obnoxiously plastic straight ppl music

Afi. Everyone else i know likes or loves afi and ive tried so many times to get into them but I literally cannot stand their music. The only song i can kind of tolerate is greater than 84 but even then I usually skip it xD

i am a pop punk enjoyer but all time low sounds generic as shit to me

emo rap and most pop-punk. like no, if you play xxxtentacion or juice wrld for me i'd spontaneously combust. and as for pop-punk, well, machine gun kelly blink-182 avril lavigne and the all-american rejects are shit. the point of punk is to be controversial, harsh, and overtly political. most pop-punk is just angsty pop with maybe one guitar riff. like no punk is angry and noisy and fast and about real issues. green day is awesome but that's basically it. 

also mcr is more of a screamo-type band. sounds a lot more like real punk/noise than pop, except for a couple songs.

nu-metal, or anything of that sort. it's not that it's too aggressive or loud, im just not a massive fan of it as a genre.

MCR is fine, but people assume I love them when I REALLY REALLY DONT.

I CANNOT STAND Throbbing Gristle.  I love industrial music, so I expected to love the creators of industrial too.  But this band is severely lacking in musicianship, songwriting, lyricism, and singing imo.  I've gotta give them some credit though since they're the reason for all of my favorite bands.

taylor swift, harry styles, blink 182, mcr, cavetown ,girl in red, and almost all country (one song is okay i just forgot the name of it)

i love mitski and some lana so i thought i'd love phoebe bridgers but...she's so boring, and boygenius is only marginally better; "without you without them" brings me to tears but everything else is awful

alice in chains and nirvana...i can't think of a single alice in chains song i like, which i think is kinda weird because i love nine inch nails. same for nirvana, but i feel like this one is worse because everyone LOVES them. i can only really stand something in the way if i'm really in the mood, and i'm just.. not. ever.

Taylor swift. I know, this could be controversial but she's just far too overrated, same thing goes to Melanie Martinez, too. No hate towards the artists themselves, they do have okay songs but they're just too overrated 

Nirvana! Just really not my jam. Same with KISS. just not a fan of the voices or the attitudes haha

TX2 and Caroline Carr. I've never been a huge fan of their gimmicks. People have asked me if I listen to them bc of how I dress, but to be honest their stuff just doesn't seem genuine.
