Makes perfect sense to me. I've been terminally online for a good bit of my life and I can say lots of communities where disagreement is frowned on, are usually controlled by people who want the community to be like their private friend space. They want it to be a perfect safe bubble and will happily lash out at others not like them.

I have noticed that as well. It makes me sad some days. The DNI lists seem to be very common with a lot of folks online. It often makes me wonder how we will ever progress as a society when groups stay confined to their own bubbles, never willing to communicate or consider different thoughts and ideas outside of their own echo chambers. I feel like these behaviors just cultivate more divisiveness in the end.
