Are there any good tutorials for custom layouts?

Is there a good place where I can learn how to make my own original layout? I can't find any tutorials on YouTube or anywhere really on the web, because this website is still rather small. I was able to take a layout and edit the colors of elements but that's all. Please let me know!!!
