Fandoms generally refer to fan groups for specific interests right? Like interests that would fall into a category like Games, Movies, Books, etc....

So you can just start a topic in one of those? 

Also the Groups tab let's you start/join groups based on more specific interests! Those have their own personal forums as well, so that may also basically be what you are looking for.
