remove filter from profile picture

Is it possible to remove filters/effects over pfps from layouts that others have made? I rlly like the layout im using but I would prefer for mine and my friends pfps to be seen as they actually are. im currently illiterate in HTMl (working on that) so if its possible please explain it to me like I am five years old
