im fairly new to the drumming scene (playing for 5ish months now) and theres sooo much elitism in every drumming circle ive tried to join so i figured id ask here where the losers (affectionate) congregate!!

anyway, do you guys have any tips on improving? like im talking real general here i'll take anything. if theres any specific youtube tutorials or anything like that which youd recommend checking out i'd looove to hear about it!! im also looking for tips on staying motivated and disciplined with practice o_o

i just started learning last year but i was told by professionals im stage ready apparently??? but i would say learn a lot of fills because once you know fills and can freestyle some you can literally almost play anything. thats if you wanna MAKE music but if you want to covers, drums are totally the most active instrument but not the hardest. the hardest part is keeping in time and doing everything looked in. also hand eye coordination is important thats where most people mess up. so if youre stuck on a beat break it down piece by piece and add as you go. you can do it real slow and get faster too. now idk if im just blabbing and this isnt helpful at all but i wish you the best on ur drummin journey
