im really in need of more trans media exposure. im the only trans person in my friend group so they don't have any recommendations :(.

Forget coded! How about explicit?

Jessie Gender's IDENTITEAZE is the most 'coded' recommendation I have. You can catch it on Nebula, or watch the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYPpbfHfhG0 .

A quick search also yielded some lists that includes a documentary called Disclosure. Other mentions include Sense8, Pose, Heartstopper, Wandering Son, Lingua Franca, I Saw the TV Glow...
