The easiest way to look emo on a budget is to go to the thrift store. There are always tons of black clothes there. And if you have things you don't wear much already, a bottle or two of black fabric dye will help you out. You can even repaint some of your shoes with leather or fabric paint if you don't own black shoes. It is hard to find band tees at the thrift store, but you don't need those right away for the aesthetic.

Bracelets are a must for emos! I know this sounds rediculous but sometimes claire's has some cool "kids" bracelets that are so 2000s somehow. Or take a belt that you dont want/need anymore, cut off the beginning piece and cut holes in it. You can add spikes if you want to

when I don't wanna dress up to much I wear black jeans with a zip up and a band tee or any random shirt. something to keep in mind is in the 2000s people wore a lot of tight fitting clothes but if you don't wanna it wont effect the outfit a lot + if you go to thrift stores around holloween they might have things like fishnet gloves or other neat accesorys depending on wear u live

not exactly the question but your hair will change the sorta "vibe" of the outfit and depending on your hair you could look a lot more grunge, however dressing like how i described is easy and you don't need to buy a lot of expencive things

clothes with stripes, big bows, and studded belts were pretty big in the 2000s as well

plz ignore my spelling

have the basics, dark coloured cloths, skinny jeans, a zip up hoodie, fitted tshirts, maybe some fingerless gloves
