Supernatural stories set on earth

I was wondering if any of you guys have any reccomendations for supernatural/science-fiction-y books specifically set on earth? Save vein as the movie ET kinda, where some people find some supernatural creature like aliens/ghosts/cryptids and the story is basically about that. 

If you know a movie/series/graphic novel with a plot like that too, I'd be interested to hear about it aswell, and if there's any good books about supernatural stuff that isn't too rooted in conspiracies I think it would be an interesting read too. Thanks
