let's do a poll: is Deftones nu-metal?

I would say some of their albums are

i think them old and first albums is nu metal, but not the newest ones like koi no yokan, of course theres some songs that are nu metal in these albums but most of the songs is not nu metal

some of their music is n some of them aren't (^_^♪)

adrenaline, around the fur and white pony yes. every album after that they evolved into different sounds.

first two albums definitely yes, then they started to drift toward a more shoegaze-y sound so its hard to say. but adrenaline and atf are pure nu-metal

grey area, they have songs in loads of different styles. But i'd say yes.

As that one meme online says:

"Well, yes. But actually no."

After a couple tracks off White Pony, no they shouldn't be considered nu-metal.

I see all the responses but what do we think of their most recent album? 

depends on the album and era. if your talking abt early deftones, like adrenaline and around the fur- absolutely. but their albums after that get more mellow and shoegazey. 

How is this even up for debate?
