The question is wrong. Twitter has a superior alternative in Mastodon; that's been the case for years, people just wouldn't budge until they were forced to. And Tumblr with all its culture is still alive, surprisingly enough, while attempts to replace it like Pillowfort or Cohost are in trouble.

there's Neocities which can be used just like geocities (it wasnt really meant for that but they're the same thing, only neocities is way better)

Phoenix uses Alex Jones' website as a substitute for the old AOL newsfeed. That may not bother some people but it was enough to get me to stop using it.
