starting training early is very important for raising a new dog! there's a book that my vet recommends called "perfect puppy in 7 days" (cant remember the author), it has a lot of useful information about crate training and potty training and such. also even if you dont plan on crating your dog very often its good to have them crate trained in case something happens or if they need to be boarded or dropped off at the vet for any reason. also if you're getting a long haired breed make sure to brush and groom it regularly! and if you're getting a bulldog: don't

yeah just do what the other person said. just make sure to dedicate time to training and not playing. youll be happier in the long run with a trained dog.
