personally, whenever i'm running low on motivation, i give myself a set amount of time before i'm even allowed to look at the draft again. call it a week-- from the time you wake up Monday morning, till the time you wake up the following Monday, do not TOUCH your draft. it will still be there when you get back! but in that time, just do what you enjoy OTHER than writing it; read a book you've been putting off, watch a movie you haven't seen in a while, listen to an album your friend suggested you! consume as much art as you can, and you'll come back to your draft with a renewed creative energy. and if not... well, there is ALWAYS tomorrow. motivation comes and goes, but drafts are forever!

wishing you luck with everything!! :)

I think Starillie gave really good advice- and it's one that I really remember to take myself! But looking back, it was always the moments when I was able to look back at drafts and old pieces of writing that I kept, where I found the most inspiration to write. Not necessarily inspiration of what to write, but more like inspiration of belief in my own ability to write, and empowerment to just do it.

Honestly, the only real tip is to just do it! It's rarely what we ever want to hear (trust me, I'm that way!) but the way to get over the blocks often caused by perfectionism is to just do it; regardless of how well we do it, or whether we know 100% what we want to do- but just doing it, however much we can.

I wish you the best of luck!! And if you feel comfortable, I think we would all love to see what you create once you get started!!

When I'm in a writing slump I usually take a step back to go do other things like clean my room or house, or I do other art instead, and sometimes I'll even just play games or engage in some other new hobby.

When I'm burnt out with writing it can usually mean I've just been doing it too much and I need a break lol.
