Advice and Guidance on Linux OS for Beginners appreciated

Forum: Web, HTML, Tech

I'm heavily considering switching to a Linux OS and just nuking my windows OS if everyone works out.

Things my OS should be able to handle include:

 - My career as a writer (pretty sure that's on lock for the most part from what I've read)

 - Surf the internet

- Possibly be able to integrate and run creative apps abd project management software (like Clickup, Canva, Trello). I can use the web versions of these apps but native availability would be great

- Run games. I'm not a heavy gamer but I do enjoy steam and have some game extensions for indie games.

I'm pretty used to windows OS but I'm over the fact that it just auto installs adware and tracking dog shit. It slows up my computers and gets all I'm my business. Microsoft Edge is acting more and more like forceful malware. I recently read that Microsoft is getting more aggressive about their engine so it tracks.

All this to say I'm considering the following Linux products:
- Peppermint

- Mint Cinnamon

 - Pop

- Zoren of some persuasion

What are your thoughts on these? Which do you think would best fit my criteria? Or do you have other suggestions? TIA!

Pretty much any modern Linux distribution can get the job done, but you'll have to get a clue. Of those you listed, I only have experience with Linux Mint; it's very polished and friendly, if somewhat on the heavy side due to its Ubuntu ancestry. But you can simply try several and see which one you like before installing.
