What’s the end goal?

I was around 6-8 when MySpace was poppin, so I really don’t know how the environment was back than other than having cool profiles. Can someone answer what’s the goal and vision on how people should use this site. Is it focused on discussion, networking, etc? Also where can I find a good post or blog explaining beginning of this site since I came from Twitter not knowing anything thanks.
