The Mimic

has anybody been keeping up with the Mimic?  I'm kind of confused but I've seen a few videos that seem interesting about it.  I saw this theory that the William is actually a mimic and it's not really William, but if that's true I feel like they're only adding the mimic because everyone hated William's return.  Idk how I feel about it, what about you guys?

I'm not sure about Mimic being a retcon to Burntrap, but it seems plausible!

Fnaf really needed a new villain anyways, ol' Willy really deserves a break pffft.

he has nice pants

Btw, here's some of my mimic art (TW for minor gore/severed limbs in background)

ohhh love the art!!! im not exactly sure how forums work or how to reply but i posted this topic like RIGHT as the mimic was introduced.  I agree, we do need a new villain other than william but im not totally happy with the mimic.  Idk i feel like they could have come up with something cooler, and maybe a bit more supernatural?  I guess im just not happy with the psy-fi direction the games seem to be going in, but reguardless im still gonna enjoy fnaf lol

I personally like the Mimic, though if it didn't exist, I think Vanny or the Blob/Tangle could've been great replacemets for Afton. But again, one is Afton number 2 and the other's a mass of ghost kids (and cables), something we're super familiar with already: the kids want revenge on William. Mimic is quite a refresher, he is a robot not possessed by anything, it's just doing what it was made to do, to mimic. Except they showed him murder and yeah it kinda slipped

I saw an interesting theory about Michael being the Mimic but I highly doubt that it's true. It is kinda interesting that DLC Ruin has a Scooper Ending and that the plot is "animatronic posing as a mashup of multiple animatronics uses a small child's voice to lure person down into underground bunker to kill them". Like Ennard uses Elizabeth's voice to get Michael, the Mimic uses Gregory's voice to get Cassie. I saw one person on tumblr refer to Ennard as "Mimic1" and the Mimic as "Mimic2" but if that's some sort of connection to the books I wouldn't know. But it makes me very curious to see what Help Wanted 2 brings to the table and if they're going to mention the Mimic at all when the game is very Sister Location focused.

As for Steel Wool and their usage of the Mimic replacing the Burntrap ending, I do find it weird how the Burntrap ending was the only non-comic ending, yet they've decided to use Ruin to show that its not the True Ending. Why was it not a comic ending then??? Also the Mimic in Ruin was wearing a mashup of animatronic costumes and didn't really look like Burntrap at all. So i do think they brought in the Mimic just to rewrite all that
