I completely agree, the Frutiger Aero aesthetic brings back such a strong sense of nostalgia for a time when design felt both simple and futuristic. It reminds me of an era when interfaces and advertisements looked like the future was already here, and that future was filled with optimism. What also gives me a similar nostalgic feeling are the pre-installed games on Windows 7, like Purble Place and the card games. I know it’s from a slightly later era, but those games still bring a cozy sense of comfort from back then. Nowadays, I no longer use Windows, but sometimes I play casino-style games on my iPad that are somewhat reminiscent of those on Windows 7. Some of them can be found here: https://somagyarkaszino.com/elo-kaszino/. Another thing that oddly triggers nostalgia for me is the chess game that came with Windows 7. There was something so unique about its atmosphere. I’d love to find a way to install it on my computer just to relive those memories, but since I use a MacBook now, that might be a bit tricky.
