[18+] Being trans is terrifying right now, let’s chat

It's seriously terrifying...I'm the most scared for my sister. She's been a lot better and her life has been seriously improving. I'm super proud of her. My worry comes in though when I see how people treat her, both online and in person. She's basically been ostracized by a lot of the local music scene and has been taken advantage of and threatened in so many ways since coming out. It scares me a lot to think what would happen if I lost her, but I know she at least has her main support systems to keep her head on her shoulders and it really makes me happy.

But overall and in general, the landscape for us is so bleak and hostile. It's so disgusting and most times it makes me wanna either go on a total rampage or just curl up and never leave my house again. I fear a lot for the LGBTQ+ youth especially and how their resources are being stripped away so easily. What will their future look like? Will they even have a future....? I hate how politicized it's all become, but of course I can't say I'm surprised when theocracy has snuck its way back into congress and so many people believe we shouldn't exist and want to erase us :// We need to stay strong for each other and seriously protect ourselves and one another 120%. I really hope everything changes for the better in the near future....

I’m so glad to hear it’s not just a me thing. I’ve been mentally ill for a long time- even before realizing my identity and coming out and all this bullshit with geriatric morons more concerned with a dumb app than minority rights really doesn’t help.

Also, sorry if I’m a bit quiet on my own thread, by the way, it’s nearly my birthday and that often brings mental health issues. Not to mention the tornadoes recently.

I am now less mentally ill atm and feeling silly, I want to bite a senator :))
