HTML/CSS is odd and I have questions

So like I've seen people replace images (Like the icon to show you're online n stuff) And I was wondering how I could do that myself... 

I aaaalso wanna know how to make profiles play music (Not with a player or anything, but automatically when you enter the page) If anyone could help me with this and explain it to me, it'd be mega appreciated! <3
