Hi Dustin!
My name is Rowan and I am a novice fly fisherman. I grew up fishing angler style on all the family camping trips over the years but now I've switched over to fly fishing.
I definitely am more of a finesse fisher over power as fly fishing is more oriented towards that. Since we don't use bait like anglers I wanted to share a fly pattern that I use for bass that they absolutely love!
It's called the deer hair bug and its made of black marabou feathers, deer hair (specifically from the body) rubber strips, and very thick thread. To make it, you use a technique called "packing" which gives it the dense but still fuzzy look. It's one of my personal favorites to tie I can't get enough of these silly little guys.
