ukulele is a common starter one because it's small and the chords are easy. i can't vouch for it because i play guitar but guitar is the first instrument i've ever played and i haven't had a super hard time learning. also (electric) bass isn't terribly hard either.

imo banjo is super fun and easy to pick up but ur kinda limited to folk music if u get one. other than that theres always the good old uke, but i recommend the melodica. super cheap and easy to pick up, and can sound super pretty if u know what ur doin :3
