Cheap CRT

lol CRTs are so damn expensive on eBay and even the cheap ones have a high shipping fee or are local pickup only. I went thrifting last night and got a CRT for just $3 and it works great! I even looked up the model and found one for like $120. I also got some other tapes for a dollar each including a SEALED Gone with the Wind. Anyone have any extreme thrifting finds?

No thrift finds anymore, most thrift stores in my area stopped taking in CRT monitors/TVs a few years ago, at least in the Philadelphia area. Still find them in flea markets and yard sales.

they're pretty expensive these days because most sellers know that "retro"/"analogue" tech is starting to become trendy nowadays.

so, some of the best advice i can give is to not search for "retro tv", "retro game tv", etc. not saying you ARE, but the sellers who mark up tend to focus on those words. search for what it actually is - a CRT, or cathode ray tube tv.

local sellers are where you get the BEST prices, though. local yard sales or, in my case, a local retro game store. try any old retro game/vhs/movie store and ask if they have any old ones laying around, i got mine for $75!

good luck hunting!
