idk what a forum is

With a forum a main person posts an idea and everyone discusses based around that idea. It's one big open conversation, not isolated like a post but broad and deliberately inviting other people. This can be just asking for the answer to a question or problem, or posting your theories or something of the sort and asking for ideas. When I was a kid my big one was bulbagarden, but there's a lot online. 

It's kind of like what people have been using the blog function for on here, honestly. And with this method it's more organized and permanent than the bulletin or blog systems on here and more conversational. Hope that's a reasonable answer
