the flags page is not linked on the website, however whoever is hosting it should mention where to find them.
it also does work on windows XP!

Thx 4 respoding My questions! Man, this frontend is a dream! Will you host it when it launches? But I'm really impressed with how this guy did it! There is a mobile app, the mobile website, AND XL! and just one more thing..THE LAST QUESTION I PROMISE how exactly we will find the flags where The person who will host will tell you where we are going to find the flags there? {I NEED ITS} I'm sorry for seeming weird :(

i will not be hosting this when it launches and you cant find the flags through just clicking around, they're on their own page. whoever is hosting the site will probably leave a link to the flags page whenever they host it. also it's not weird to ask question, don't worry about it

if video it's blocked behind try YouTube kids or something like you can't comment or something else is there going to be way to comment on YouTube kids videos with this frontend?
like gummy bear or any other video for kids?
and if on normal YouTube comments are turned off there would be a way to comment by using this frontend?
I know that this frontend uses their own comment section or something but I wanted to know if this is possible

if it is a youtube kids video then it will just leave the comment section empty unless you're using wayback features and there's an archive of the video from before 2013-01-01. simulated logins can leave comments on videos even if the comments are disabled. they only show up to other yt2009 users.
if you want to leave real comments, you will have to use the relay feature

all the themes are hosted in the userstyles channel on the discord. when the frontend releases publicly they will probably be hosted on userstyles.world

hi! the instructions for how to host yt2009 are on the gifhub page (which is not currently linked here)
if you do not have a computer with a lot of space, please wait for a proper public instance to be hosted, when one is it will be linked on this post

After tinkering with the public instance, it's just fine when I browse some videos but later on I just discovers an issue while loading them (It's got time out 524 error)
Not so sure about this tho..
(And also, how's the minimum version of NodeJS I can run if I wanted to hosting my own instance?)

to Nanandmic567: hi! sorry to hear you're having issues with the public instance. if you want to know more hosting your own instance, please check out the github.
to xXLeeMonDEmon12345Xx: hello! im not sure how to proxy this myself, i just use URL Rewriter to replace every youtube link with the frontend. I posted a version of that in a few discord servers, you can download that here. Just import this into Redirector or URL Rewriter, though you'll need to replace the json with rjson if you want to use it with that.
to Mewkaollasu and Joao Gabri: I'm glad you like it!

Okay, after I tried it out for a while... This is surprisingly good!
Also, the frontend on my own private instance are running well (even I have Windows 7 laptop with NodeJS 12.22.12 installed). Plus the latest public instance is much better than the previous one now... Thanks for making this a pleasure for everyone who love this project, and keep it going!
P.S. What about the import/export feature? Like settings and subscriptions between instances.

You forgot to rename of the https://yt2009.giabs.ovh/ in userstyles.world of all the themes from 2006-2010.
NOTE: 2008 theme was supposed to be in 4:3 and 2012 theme doesn't have a quick list on his thumbnail

hi Nanandmic5, im glad you like the frontend! there is talk about possibly having some syncing between instances, but that wont be until after the next update.
hi Tudor, i am aware that all the themes use a different URL then the currently linked public instances, i will probably update that later. the themes were uploaded as they were made without adjustment, if you have any issues with them please contact the creators credited in the description of each theme.

idea for YT2009: early 2008 - early 2009 player without this arrow thingy
+ more features on test tube like audio swap, streams, caption tube, and insights audience
+a theme with early - late 2006
+ HTML5 player (2006,2007,2008, dark theme 2009 player 2010, 2012)
+ early 2005 - late 2005, late 2005 - early 2006 theme and player

Well, since it was released for a week... I have a few more questions about what's going on right now..
1. There's someone created an issue on GitHub about repo's licensing, and the README.md doesn't includes "This frontend is not affiliated with YouTube" at the bottom... So it should be licensed as "Unlicense license" like some other frontends such as Rehike.
2. The Android app for yt2009 on here is from the previous instance that we have the problem with (aesthetiful), and it has only one version (2.1.6)... I hope that someone will make more versions for the newer instance... And speaking of the android app.
3. While the said app can be loaded without setting it up, but when you wanted to patch other versions of the original YouTube app... is quite complicated sometime.
That's about it.
P.S. And also, I'm just working on a recreation of Thai language that was existed on this layout. But unfortunately, there's no snapshots on the wayback machine anymore... so I decided to creates them from the ground up (But it's currently WIP rn so yeah)

hi tudor! yt2009 isnt an error now, it's the same as it's been for weeks, you just didnt set it up properly. i cannot help you since i havent personally hosted yt2009, but if you want to use it then i would suggest using the public instance linked above.
hello camila! i cannot speak for every public instance, but the yt2009 source code and the public instance that are linked on this post are safe.

hello! i dont think i understand your question? all of the userstyles are designed to work with the aesthetiful instance, they will work with other instances but you have to manually change all the links

hello vista! are you personally hosting this or are you using a public instance? have you tried using the flash player? what browser are you using?
yt2009 is tested to work on Windows versions as low as 98, so it's not an XP issue

add "/toggle_f.htm" to the end of whatever link you're using (eg: https://yt2009.aesthetiful.com/toggle_f.htm) (dont use aesthetiful for this though since the flash players havent been patched for this instance)
for flash enabled browsers i personally use pale moon, however there are some issues with the flash player specifically on pale moon (that can be fixed by clearing the yt2009 related cookies)
older versions of chrome and firefox should also work
