Whats a comfort video game/game franchise you enjoy?

i don't remember not knowing pokemon, and i just really adore how far the game lets you take your favourites from one game to the next- my first pokemon i ever raised from egg to lvl 100 went through three name changes purely to ??? signify his growth??? <- child brain i suppose, but endearing to look back on now. i haven't moved him or anyone else from the 3ds to the switch because i dont have a switch of my own and they just feel more secure that way <3

it's so easy to make your own idea of team dynamics purely based on who faints when and who gets switched out to replace them and that's always been one of my favourite things; how you can make a story of your own on the journey while there is still a 'main story'

a newer (as in more recent- the game is not very new) comfort video game i've found myself endeared with is mother 3, despite how kind of. not reassuring? it is, but i love the story elements and characters to an such a degree. it's more of the kind of comfort that makes you cry in relation to the State Of Things In Life and the game itself but it's comfort anyways

probably the zelda series for me! they've never been my favorite games ever, but they're always a really cozy time for me. especially breath of the wild, it's probably one of my most played games of all time. 

other than zelda i'd say maybe minecraft too! i mean who doesn't like just starting a new world in minecraft yk

depends on what you mean by comfort. If you mean letting out anger, then probably Doom Eternal or GTA V. If you mean relaxing and just calming down, probably MGS V

Right now, my comfort games are Calico and Block'hood. They're both extremely comforting to me. Calico is a relaxing game I can turn my brain off to, while Block'hood gives me something to focus on. I can also sort of... "roleplay" in both of them? I make up my own little stories and play pretend by myself. Minecraft is like that for me too, and so was Poptropica before they mutilated it :')<br>

Edit: I found out that Poptropica is restoring all the old islands?! I thought they got rid of them entirely, but they just had to temporarily close them because they relied on Flash! Yay, another comfort game is back!

ironically my comfort videogames are ones that are extremely demanding and stressful, like pathologic for instance. its a game where it doesnt tell you anything or how to play youre just a bachelor of medicine who arrived upon a village and have to find out why everyone is dying and theres three protagonists who each have different routes.

vampire the masquerade feels so comforting and familiar to me, especially the music. the music of that game really made me into who i am today.

and then identity v is so fun !! i can just turn my head off even though i get tilted a lot lol
