do you count manga as literature??

this will sound kinda stupid but I was replaying a certain game where a certain character states that manga is literature, sparking a whole heated argument about that topic.

Now me personally,, if there are words to be read on paper in the format of a book, I count it as literature whether there are more pictures or not. what are your thoughts?

I read both literature and manga!

To me, there's a distinct difference due to one having description instead of pictures. So to me, manga is something entirely different, but that would make children's books also something else.

I think it's all just about how you feel about it. So if it's literature to you, then you should consider it that!

I'd say any work involving the written word counts as literature, including music lyricism. Manga may be much more reliant on visuals, but it's still telling a narrative either way.
